UKIP support now double the size of Liberal Democrats

The latest TNS BMRB poll shows UKIP support has increased to 18% - this is more than twice the size of Liberal Democrat support which has fallen to just 7%. The increase for UKIP comes after their positive results in the May local elections but still this matches levels of support we have seen since December 2012. This indicates that the party's popularity is not just a response to those election results.

Key Numbers

  • 37% Labour
  • 28% Conservative
  • 18% UKIP
  • 7% Liberal Democrats

Support for the Labour Party now stands at 37%, with the lead over the Conservative party at 9 points.
