In 2022, Campaign released its second edition of “Women to Watch Greater China”, seeking to identify 30 women who have inspirational stories, strong business achievements and a passion for helping to drive the industry forward. Over the past years, Women to Watch honourees passed new milestones, won more awards and opened new chapters in their professional lives.

This year, more female talents from ad agencies, brands, media platforms, in-house marketing teams and even NGOs joined the competition. It was an exceptionally challenging year for the jury panel. Against the backdrop of fierce competition, the jury arrived at the final list after several rounds of reviewing. The 30 women who have made the cut came from more diversified background and represented more cities in the Greater China region.

The jury panel’s comment about Lynn is:

“With her experience, expertise and energy, Zhang is described as the engine behind the growth of Kantar’s business in China.

“Kantar China’s Innovation team under her leadership has provided global clients with consumer data insights and business consulting services. In the past year, her team achieved double-digit growth, the highest growth rate in recent five years and secured the Golden Service Provider award from Alibaba’s Tmall Innovation Centre. Her precise targeted marketing strategy helped clients to win new customers for their new products.

“Zhang oversaw the Kantar BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Chinese Brands launching events, which gathered more than 1,000 branding and marketing professionals and journalists. With over 20,000 livestream views and almost 7,000 media impressions, this annual flagship event of Kantar successfully initiated sophisticated discussions of ‘building sustainable brands’ in the industry.

“Apart from her efforts to promote sustainability, Zhang is often on the stage at industry summits as a guest host or a panellist, sharing her insights about the market and the industry.

“As the chair of Inclusion and Diversity at Kantar China, Zhang organises events such as the Women in Leadership summit and continuously builds a workforce with diverse cultural and professional backgrounds. She adopts a personal approach in fostering the next generation of talents which combines professional training with mentorship. She is also a great leader who is always ready to listen to her team members.”

Upon receiving this award, Lynn Zhang commented: “I am thrilled and proud of receiving this award. I truly appreciate the recognition from Campaign Asia and all the marketing experts. Meanwhile, I want to thank Kantar for recognising and supporting female leadership, so female leaders like me have room to lead teams to constantly innovate and unlock their potential, contributing to the development of marketing industry.”
