About this research

As we near the start of this year’s Festive Season globally, consumers are beginning to make plans for upcoming gatherings and holiday celebrations.

While some groups of family and friends may have intentions to celebrate in person, others are faced with indecision or challenges with making firm plans, due to uncertainty.

Kantar has conducted an online survey among people globally asking about their intentions for this upcoming Festive Season. Will they gather in person? Travel? Spend more or less on food or home goods than they typically do?

View our findings in the latest Community Report, Connecting with Reuniting Families, to explore:

  • Gatherings over the past 18 months, including how much people missed
  • Plans for this Festive Season, including who’s gathering and where
  • Expected spending on items such as food, travel, gifts and furnishings
  • Confidence in travel plans, and safety concerns

This research was conducted online among 8,001 people across the US, UK, France, Germany, India, Singapore, China and Brazil.

Respondents were sourced from the Kantar Profiles Audience Network. All interviews were conducted as online self-completion and collected based on local age and gender census distributions between 19 and 28 October 2021.
