Kantar joins Movin' On LAB board to support sustainable mobility

19 February 2019

Kantar, the world’s leading marketing insights and consulting company, announced today that it has joined the board of Movin’On LAB, the sustainable mobility “think and do tank”. Originally founded by tyre manufacturer Michelin, the organisation’s aim is to empower sustainable mobility across the globe by combining expertise from leading organisations across the broad mobility ecosystem. Movin’On LAB supports the annual summit on sustainable mobility, the Movin’On Summit , which will take place in June 2019 in Montreal, Canada.

Kantar has joined the board alongside 20 well-known brands* from multiple sectors including technology, transport, automotive, finance, insurance, industry, consulting and energy. Kantar’s Automotive practice will bring consumer insight expertise to discussions and key initiatives across the mobility ecosystem including automated transport and connected mobility.

For example, a new concept called Smartbus has been collaboratively developed by Movin’On LAB partners. The objective is to invent an “office on wheels” which allows commuters or passengers to transform their journey into quality, productive time. Kantar will test the new mobility concept among consumers within the scope of the Mobility Futures study, which helps mobility players to better understand and predict consumers’ mobility behavior across over 30 major cities globally.

“The automotive industry is in the midst of multiple transformations, from ownership models to sustainability goals.” commented Eric Salama, CEO, Kantar. “At Kantar we are helping many major automotive and mobility ecosystem players navigate these changes and stay connected to their customers. Movin’On is a place where we can partner to shape the mobility industry and we’re delighted to contribute our knowledge and insights to the cause.”

“Kantar will make a strong addition to our board, providing global consumer insight and expertise to match our ambition” commented Alexis Offergeld, Movin’On LAB Director. “Kantar is a long lasting and trustworthy partner of many players in the mobility ecosystem, and I look forward to utilising their expertise.”

Kantar will be represented on the Movin’On LAB board by Guillaume Saint, Global Automotive Lead, who said: “Achieving long-term sustainability goals requires a broad range of companies collaborating to develop ecosystems that consumers understand and trust”.

In an industry facing extraordinary change where automotive and mobility brands are transitioning towards a world of connected mobility, Kantar’s Automotive Practice offers the most complete understanding of people’s attitudes and behaviours relating to trends such as connectivity, autonomous driving, shared mobility and electric vehicles. Automotive experts at Kantar guide clients at every stage of the customer journey, and help them make the right decisions about innovation, brand, go-to-market and customer experience strategies, and more.
